Why Consider Mixed Martial Art Gloves?

all Mixed Martial Arts make it a point to make the fighters wear MMA gloves. These gloves function in two ways: they protect the fists of the fighter from being damaged or injured and they also make it possible for the fighter to deal a destructive blow.

MMA gloves are designed with an open palm and open fingers. This allows so much freedom of movement for the hands. There are four types of MMA gloves according to purpose: sparring, bag, fight, and hybrid gloves. You canĀ  “buy your new pair of boxing gloves” (which is known as “Koop uw nieuwe paar bokshandschoenen” in Dutch online).

Sparring gloves, also known as training or practice gloves, are used in practice bouts and they can be divided in two types: the ones that have the traditional look with individual finger slots whereas the others include a padded striking area with finger loops.

The choice of gloves to spar or train with will depend on what the fighter wants or is most comfortable with. MMA gloves have padding, but none more so than the sparring gloves.

Bag gloves are most handy since they are specially created to minimize the impact of strikes and hits. They are more densely padded and usually include a grip bar and increased wrist support.

As they are designed for bag hitting it is inadvisable to use them in fighting or sparring, as they can cause greater injuries to both the opponent and fighter alike.
